What we collect.

You can read the website without an account. An optional account stores your email address, display name, password hash, favourite collections, private journal statuses and account dates. Your password is hashed before storage.

Account security uses a session identifier and short-lived rate-limit records derived from connection information. Hosting access logs may record an IP address, requested address, time and browser information for security and fault diagnosis. We operate no advertising or analytics trackers.

Your device and your messages.

A guest journal and comparison selection stay in your browser’s local storage. Optional preferences remember catalogue choices. An account journal stays separate until you explicitly choose to add missing guest entries.

The Contact form prepares a draft in your email app. The website does not send or store that form. If you send the draft yourself, your message is handled through our email provider so we can respond.

Purpose and retention.

Account information supports the journal service you request. Security records protect the service; optional preferences are used with your choice. Recovery links expire after 60 minutes and are removed after use. Short-lived rate-limit records expire automatically.

You can delete your account and its journal immediately from Account. Inactive accounts are removed after two years without a recorded sign-in. Email correspondence is retained only as needed to resolve the enquiry and meet applicable obligations. Our hosting and email providers process information for those services.

Your choices and rights.

We handle personal information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The requested account service is the basis for account processing; security relies on legitimate interests, and optional preferences rely on consent.

Download your account data, change your display name or password, and delete your account from its settings. Clearing browser storage removes device-only data. You can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal information, and raise a privacy concern, at support@worldwanderledger.com.

UK residents can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. Privacy requests are handled by the World Wander Ledger editorial desk.

External services.

Following a Steam or source link opens that service under its own privacy terms. A YouTube trailer connects to youtube-nocookie.com only after you press its play button. Close the video to remove the player. Read our Cookie Policy for browser storage details.
